Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Wishing the best to our friends and  for 2012.  We had a wonderful year at DFWfinearts, working with and making many new friends and building customer relationships.  I have a calendar full of clients that I can’t wait to work with.  Let’s capture some memories and make  beautiful images together in 2012 !!!

BTW did you get engaged over Christmas?  It happens quite often, and of course I think it’s great.   My web traffic always jumps up around this time of the year.  Ladies, my site is always nice and quiet with no corny music in the background to alert your co-workers of your wedding preparation.  I totally understand.  Planning a wedding your way is a huge undertaking and very time consuming.

You will first need  a budget, a plan, a venue, a date, a timeline, vendors and on and on…

Part of the vendor selection is of course a photographer.  I urge you to make a list and visit several photographers before making a decision.   You must like your photographer, trust his judgement, style, look ,professionalism, experience, appearance, sense of humor and more.  He will be at your side the majority of your day, that is of course the most important day of your life.  When it’s all over, you will be left with your new sweety, rings, dress, registry, cake topper and memories.  Oh,  one more thing…beautiful photos to keep those memories alive.

I understand weddings and what is important to a bride.  I’d love to meet you and talk about your wedding!

Meghan and Greg

Meghan and Greg had a beautiful wedding out at AandM Gardens, the weather was nice as well has their service, family and friends.  Here’s a slideshow with some samples of her photos.

I’m always up for new things and Kristyn and Brett asked if I would consider shooting their engagements ant the Texas State Fair in Dallas.  I of course said “yes”  without hesitation.  The shoot was fun and I got to spend plenty of time getting to know Kristyn and Brett.  Having an assistant along to watch gear and help with lighting was a must and my wife Cindy gladly agreed.  She worked hard in return for a few Fletcher corn dogs, we had fun.  The shoot had it’s challenges, mainly people in the the background that added distractions to the photos.  We tried to hit all the iconic spots and had a big time doing it.  Here’s a few samples from their proofs.

Here’s some State Fair Icons

I really like all the colors in the photos.  For the photographers that follow me, I was shooting at really high ISO’s most of the time between 4000-6400.  That enabled me to get good, natural saturated color from the available ambient.  I did you a tad of off cam fill flash.

School of Rock Fort Worth

Had a great time shooting SOR Ft Worths Fall 2011 concert.  Those kids are so fun, cute and THEY Rock!  They really seem to enjoy being part of a band, taking music lessons to a whole new level.  It’s a great event to photograph, I alway get some amazing shots.  Hey proud parents, I’ll start emailing proofs next week.

Crystal’s Bridals

With Crystal and Jeffrey’s wedding complete I can now share her bridal session.  We decided to shoot them at the historic Thistle Hill mansion in Fort Worth.  Thistle Hill is one of the few remaining mansions of the “cattle baron” period of Fort Worth.  It is a wonderfull place and a joy to work in.  Crystal has a smile that just lights up a room when she turns it on.  Kathy Tarpley was her make-up artist and her work looked amazing.  She can be reached at kathytarpley@att.net.  Her hair was also perfect and styled by Angela Garcia at Salon at Stone Cottage in Lake Worth.  Working with Crystal was effortless as she is a natural in front of the camera.  Again, her smile is amazing and paired with the perfect dress it made for a fun workday afternoon!  Here she is looking stunning.
